What are Missouri Touring Performers?
The name "Missouri Touring Performers" means two things:
• A Missouri Arts Council program
Through monthly grants, this program brings a variety of Missouri performers--including dancers, musicians, theater performers, storytellers and more--to communities throughout the state
• The artists who are listed in the program's directory
Artists formally apply to be included in the directory, and are reviewed by a Missouri Arts Council panel for their artistic quality, management ability, and touring experience. The Missouri Arts Council then offers Monthly Strategic Touring Grants to presenters to assist them in bringing artists selected from the directory to perform in their communities and schools. There are currently 206 ensembles and solo artists listed as performers in the directory.
If you are with an organization looking for a high quality performer for your event, the Missouri Touring Performers directory is your ideal resource. If you are an artist, becoming a Missouri Touring Performer helps you to be found by presenters. If you are simply a person who loves the arts, browsing our directory will introduce you to a wealth of Missouri talent.
Artists are currently listed in only one category. If you cannot find the artist you are seeking and you believe they are on the list, please contact Courtney Schlueter, Missouri Arts Council Program Specialist, at 314-340-6858 or 866-407-4752.
Missouri-based touring performers may apply to be listed in the Missouri Touring Performer directory. The most recent deadline to apply was February 29, 2016.
For Organizations That Want to Present Performers
If your organization is eligible to receive Missouri Arts Council funding (tax-exempt, Missouri-based) you may apply for a Monthly Strategic Touring Grant to support presenting a performer from the Missouri Touring Performer directory. You may apply once per fiscal year, for a total maximum of $3,000. For more information see these guidelines. FY2016 grants are for projects occurring from July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
