The Ill-Mo Boys have been entertaining audiences across the country with their unique and energetic brand of old-time string band music since the mid¬-1980s. They are avid collectors of fiddle tunes and have spent many hours in the company of Missouri master fiddlers like NEA Heritage Award recipient Bob Holt, Vesta Johnson, Gene Goforth, and R.P. Christeson. The Ill-Mo Boys are devoted fans of early country music from the "Golden Age" of recording (ca. 1926-1942) and have developed a repertoire of songs and tunes learned from old 78-rpm records and vintage field recordings. They hold dear that material which has its origins in Missouri and the midwest. The Ill-Mo Boys entertain audiences of all ages and are available for concerts, festivals, workshops and square dances. The band members are: Geoff Seitz and Marc Rennard, fiddles and vocals; Curtis Buckhannon, mandolin and vocals; Jim Nelson guitar and vocals.
