The Crusell Quartet - named after Finnish clarinet virtuoso and composer Bernhard Henrik Crusell is a unique combination of clarinet, violin, viola, and cello. The group performs the original works written for this delightful combination of instruments, and draws its repertoire from the works of classical composers Crusell, Catel, Stamitz, Duvernoy, Catel, von Winter, Wanhal, Hummel and others, as well as modern works by Kókai (Hungarian), Penderecki (Polish), Pylkkanen (Finnish), and arrangements of works by Ravel, Debussy, Sibelius, Grieg, Beirach (includes jazz improvisation), John Williams, and Donizetti. The Crusell Quartet has recorded their debut album "ELM" on Centaur Records (#3055) and will soon release another CD of previously unrecorded classical French music.
