Our 50-minute touring productions, workshops, and study materials have a 14-year legacy of success, including awards and accolades from educators throughout Missouri and beyond. 2015 Touring Productions: ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, the epic, intriguing, and enchanting tale of a Roman general caught under the spell of history’s most stunning and powerful queen. Themes highlighted: love, honor, gender roles, war. In THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA, two best friends both fall in love with the Duke’s daughter, and hilarity ensues! Themes highlighted: love, transformation, loyalty, generosity. 2015 Student Workshops: Shakespeare: See it! Read it! Write it! - Through storytelling techniques and physical theater activities, students will use the themes from ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA and THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA to create a mini-play in their own words. Our teaching actors will help students build their literacy skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Speak the Speech: Playing with Shakespeare’s Language - Students will engage in a theatrical approach to understanding poetry, prose, rhythm, and sound, unlocking the character clues and story details packed into Shakespeare’s plays. To Thine Own Self Be True: Character Education with Shakespeare - Using key principles of character education, our teaching actors will guide students through hands-on, experiential activities to explore the moral dilemmas of some of the Bard’s most infamous characters.
