Description:

Do you love Paris in the springtime or anytime? Adore the voice and songs of Edith Piaf? Then this group is for you! Elsie Parker’s voice is exactly the same range as the “Sparrow” Piaf, and makes sure familiar songs like “La vie en rose” are always part of her performance. Elsie also delves into “the unknown Piaf” including haunting versions of early Piaf works like “Les mômes de la cloche”, the song that first gained Piaf attention and made her a star. But it doesn’t stop there. Being a multi-woodwind player, Elsie can sing any number of soulful songs of Michel Legrand (such as “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg”) and also play a jazz chorus on clarinet or flute/alto flute and then turn around and play tenor sax on a steamy Latin jazz tune of Gato Barberi, or a funk song of Venessa Paradis. Band members Ken Kehner (piano), Mike Carosello (keyboards), Wayne Coniglio (bass and bass trombone, former Ray Charles member for 7 ½ years), Ron Carr (drums), and Alan Schilling (percussion) are remarkable talents each in their own right. This group can perform as a 3, 4, 5, and 6-piece group, plus Elsie also has orchestrations to be able to be soloist with orchestras! This seasoned group has performed in the St. Louis area, Illinois, Iowa, California, Florida. Elsie has even performed on French TV in Paris!
