These multi-faceted performers are gifted in the art forms of singing, composing, acting and dance, and together they are, BOOK OF GAIA. They are the creators of “Chant of Harlem”, an original one-act theatrical work, exploring the 'reason and rhyme' of the Harlem Renaissance, an important era in American history. A unique brand of edutainment, “Chant of Harlem” incorporates music, literature, poetry, historical fiction and movement. The meticulously researched performance is designed to encourage a “circular learning” experience while promoting diversity and educational outreach. The presentation includes visual imagery, suggested reading lists, points for discussion, study guides and can culminate in a Q/A session. “Chant of Harlem” can be offered as a performance solely, or as a “Chant of Harlem” Edutainment Package. This package includes lecture/demonstrations and curriculum-building resources for faculty to intergrate into their classrooms. While this work has been crafted with the classroom in mind, it transcends beautifully into a highly polished cabaret perfomance featuring the music and poetry of the exciting Harlem Renaissance era and can be marketed to a variety of audiences from corporate to community to club settings.
