CALL FOR FY2010 PANELISTS
MAC is continually seeking individuals who are willing and able to serve on the Advisory Panels. MAC relies on individuals reflecting a broad range of artistic and cultural viewpoints to bring a spectrum of knowledge and experience to the application review process. Advisory Panelists evaluate grant applications and assist MAC with policy and program development. For more information or to nominate yourself or another person, click on the link below. MISSOURI ARTS AWARDS

Initiated in 1983, the Missouri Arts Award honors individuals and organizations that have made profound and lasting contributions to the cultural and artistic climate of the state. Each year, Missouri Arts Award nominees are reviewed by a committee of Missouri citizens from throughout the state who are knowledgeable, experienced, and highly respected in the arts.

2008 Missouri Arts Awards
Missouri Arts Council has received many nominations for outstanding individuals, organizations, and communities.  MAC is proud to announce the 2008 Missouri Arts Awards recipients (by category):

  • Arts Education – Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey, Kansas City
  • Arts Organization – Missouri Folklore Society, Columbia
  • Creative Community – City of St. Joseph, St. Joseph
  • Individual Artist – Linda Kennedy, St. Louis
  • Arts Leadership – Marc Wilson, Kansas City
  • Philanthropy – Gary Tatlow and the late Marilyn Silvey Tatlow, Columbia.

The awards were presented in a ceremony February 13, 2008 at the Capitol Rotunda in Jefferson City.

2008 Missouri Arts Awards Artists
2008 MAA poster, invitation, program, and awards features Parade Day, an oil painting created by Donald Currant of St. Louis.  Bruce Howard of Harvester will create the awards that will be presented to five of the recipients at the ceremony.  The Creative Community award recipient will receive special street signs recognizing this honor.

2007 Missouri Arts Awards Artists
2007 MAA poster, invitation, program, and awards features Skywest, a fiber artwork created by Susan Leslie Lumsden of Thayer. Michael Hayes of St. Louis created the awards that were presented to five of the recipients at the ceremony.

Citizens’ Day at the Legislature
Missouri Citizens for the Arts hosted Citizens' Day at the Legislature on
February 13, 2008. PUBLICATIONS

Missouri Touring Performers is produced by MAC to promote and support communities seeking quality performing artists as well as the performers themselves.  Participants include over 60 musicians, music groups, storytellers, folk artists, theatrical performers, and dancers.  This publication is available online at Missouri Touring Performers.  You can request a hard copy by contacting MAC office at toll free 866-407-4752 or michael.donovan@ded.mo.gov.
